The government will set minimum specifications for cameras and send monthly alerts to drivers regarding challan payments, thus promoting electronic surveillance. This will encourage timely payments of challans on the part of drivers and adherence to traffic rules.
Improve Recovery Rate
Strict measures have been adopted to improve the challan recovery rate in India. In Delhi, the recovery rate stands at just 14%, while in Maharashtra and Haryana, it ranges from 62% to 76%. New rules must be implemented by the government to increase these rates.
